PDF to TXT

Extract selectable text from a PDF into a plain text file.

How it works

PDF to TXT extracts plain selectable text from a PDF into a simple text file that is easy to search, edit, or move into another tool.

Steps

  1. Upload the source file to start.
  2. Review the default settings and continue when the task looks right for your file or text.
  3. Start the job, wait for progress to complete, and then download the finished file when it is ready.

When to use this tool

Use it when you need the words from a PDF more than the visual design, page styling, or original formatting.

Limitations

If the PDF is a scan with no text layer, the output may be empty or incomplete. OCR is not yet supported in this workflow.
